Last night, I was a datu, a male model, captain of the Egyptian army, a pop star, and a jazz dancer all in one show! I am very proud to have been part of Danzfabrique - 21st Century Asia Pacific Fashion Theatre.
It was an ambitious project--a fashion show with live music and theatrical vignettes--spearheaded by Miguel Braganza II (Concept, Choreography, Stage Direction) and Anthony Cruz Legarda (Fashion, Ramp Direction) with very valuable contributions from Erno John Hormillosa (Costumes), Imogene Raypon (Public Relations, Make-Up), Arianne Recto (Stage Manager), and Marisse Panlilio (Lights, Sound), among others.
We had a gorgeous and very talented cast of models, musicians, dancers, and actors who all worked very hard to give a great show. They are all such nice people, too. It was a pleasure to go to rehearsals and see the beauty and talent on display. I'm very grateful for having had a truly unforgettable experience that most performers could only dream of.
My mom was in the audience, as well as my friends Micheline Zamora, Lu Mele, and Derek Storm. It was nice to see their faces from the stage and the ramp. There were also some dignitaries and high profile people from the diplomatic community, the Filipino community (it was, after all, a show centered around Philippine culture, fabrics, and fashion) and the entertainment community.
