Asia's nightingale gave us many goosebumps-inducing vocal turns, making full use of her famously versatile voice. Her voice is in itself exquisite, and her mastery of it is awe inspiring. It was also evident that we had a seasoned performer in our midst--every hair flip, spiel, hand motion, and piece of random stage banter was executed with uncommon grace and confidence.
Our wonderful production team was headed by Elton Lugay, Grace Labaguis, and Marisse Panlilio. I got to perform a duet with the lovely and über talented Kirby Asunto, who was most recently seen in the role of Basilio in Noli Me Tangere the Opera (Music by Felipe Padilla De Leon, Libretto by Guillermo Tolentino). We also had the pleasure of meeting Roberto Villanueva of Bala Sole, who opened the show with a dance performance.
Last but not least, I met some lovely people who were in the audience--I even got a complimentary copy of "Brinoy Dois" from Bessie Badilla herself!
What a night! :)
